Quotes
Price a roof from the size and pitch you type in. You get a quote page and a PDF to download.
Who can open it: owner, admin, manager, rep, estimator, office. In the menu it is called Quotes.
How to build a quote
- Open Quotes.
- Fill in the street address, city, state and ZIP.
- Type the roof Footprint (sq ft) and the Pitch, for example 6/12. These boxes are open already.
- Tick any upgrades you want to show.
- To save the quote, add a name and an email. They are optional.
- Select Show my prices.
You then see the price, a link to View full quote and a link to Download PDF. The page reminds you: "Preliminary pricing. Totals only. Final price follows scope and contract review."
In the free version you measure the roof yourself. Automated RoofTrue measurement is the premium way to do this step. See Free or premium?.
If you leave the footprint and pitch blank, the quote is not priced. The page says: "No roof measurement is on file for this address. Type the roof footprint (square feet) and the pitch to price it yourself. Automated RoofTrue measurement is a premium add-on."
Your prices
Set your prices once, then quote in minutes. Until you save them, the Quotes page says "Set your prices first" and links to the page where you do it (Settings, Pricing, or Continue setup on the dashboard). There you give each of up to three options a name, a price per square and a warranty line, for example Good, Better and Best. After that, every quote uses your own prices.
Select Save my prices: the page says "Prices saved. Quotes now use them." Customers see totals only, never your rates.
For example, three options named Good, Better and Best at $450, $600 and $850 per square, and a roof typed in as a 2,400 sq ft footprint at 6/12, gave $13,905, $18,540 and $26,265. Check one quote against your own arithmetic before you send any to a customer.
Saved quotes
When a customer or you save a quote with a name and email, it appears under Saved quotes. On the free version each one has a Create job button: it makes the customer, the lead and the job at the tier you pick, and no proposal document (a proposal is not one of the free document types, so the Create job + proposal button is replaced by "Proposal documents are a Premium feature"). If the quote's address was typed rather than verified, it is verified with the US Census at that moment; if it cannot be, nothing is created and the page says why. Creating the job twice does not duplicate it. Back to dashboard on that page goes to your dashboard. The quote PDF and the quote page the customer opens carry your logo (or company name), phone, email and license, and the customer's own name; they do not print the pricing version, measurement source or data vintage.
Limit
The free version allows 50 quotes a month.
