Terms of Service
These are the rules for using JTF OS, the free workspace for contractors. We wrote them in plain English so you can read them in one sitting.
Last updated November 4, 2026. Version recorded when you create an account: terms-20261104-2af1c332
The short version
- JTF OS is free to use within the limits we publish. We can change the limits, with notice.
- Your data is yours, including your customers' information. We use it only to run the service for you.
- You are responsible for your own jobs, prices, contracts and customers. Our templates are not legal advice.
- You can export your data any time, and you can ask us to close or delete your workspace.
- The service comes as it is, and what we owe you if something goes wrong is limited. Read those two sections.
- Alabama law applies. We talk first before anyone goes to court.
This summary is for convenience. The full text below is what counts.
1. About these terms
JTF OS is run by JTF Software Solutions, a brand of JTF Home Group LLC (Alabama). In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean that company. "You" means the person who creates an account, and the business that person runs or works for.
These terms and our Privacy Policy are the agreement between you and us. They apply when you create an account, sign in or use JTF OS in any way. If you do not agree to them, do not use JTF OS.
If you sign up for a company, you promise that you have the authority to accept these terms for it. In that case "you" means the company too.
2. Who can use JTF OS
- You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of adulthood where you live if that is higher.
- You must use JTF OS for your business. It is not for personal, family or household use.
- You must be allowed by law to use the service. If we closed your account before, please ask us before you open another one.
- No one under 13 may use JTF OS or give us information. The Privacy Policy explains what we do if that happens.
3. Your account and workspace
When you sign up, we create a workspace for your company. The person who signs up is its owner. Owners can invite teammates and give them roles. The free plan limits how many teammates you can have.
- Give us true information and keep it up to date.
- Pick a strong password and keep it to yourself. Each login is for one person.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account, including what the people you invite do in your workspace.
- Tell us right away if you think someone else got into your account. Use our contact page (opens in a new tab).
We may ask you to confirm your email address. We may also refuse a sign-up or a sign-in that looks unsafe.
4. The free plan
JTF OS is free forever. It needs no credit card and no sales call. The free plan comes with usage limits, such as how many teammates, customers, open jobs, quotes and photos you can add. The current limits are listed on our Usage and limits help page and in your workspace under Usage.
When you reach a limit, JTF OS stops you from adding more of that thing. It never deletes what you already have.
We may change the limits, add features, or offer paid add-ons later. Some services, such as extra electronic signature sends and our premium data and imaging services, are not part of the free plan. A paid add-on will have its own terms, and you will see them before you buy. We will not charge you for anything unless you have clearly agreed to it first. We will give notice before a change that makes the free plan smaller (see "Changes to the service and these terms").
5. Your data is yours
"Your Data" means everything you and your team put into JTF OS or make with it: customer and lead records, jobs, quotes, schedules, documents, photos, notes, company details and anything else. It includes your customers' information.
Between you and us, you own Your Data. We do not claim any ownership of it.
You give us a limited permission to handle Your Data, and only so we can run JTF OS for you. That means we may store it, show it to you and your team, send the emails you ask JTF OS to send, keep the service safe, look into problems you report, and do what the law requires. This permission lasts as long as we hold Your Data.
We do not sell Your Data. We do not use it for advertising. We do not use it to train AI models. We may count things, like how many workspaces or documents exist, to run and plan the service. Those counts do not include what is inside Your Data.
You promise that you have the right to put Your Data into JTF OS and to let us handle it this way. That includes your customers' information and any permission you need from them.
6. Your responsibilities as a contractor
JTF OS is a set of tools. You run your business. You are responsible for:
- your jobs, prices, quotes, contracts and other documents, and what they say;
- following the laws that apply to your work, such as licensing, permits, taxes, consumer protection, cancellation rights, lien notices, and the rules for texts and emails to customers;
- getting any permission you need before you add a customer's information or contact them through JTF OS;
- keeping your own copies of anything important.
Please do not store payment card numbers, bank account numbers, Social Security numbers or health information in JTF OS. It is not built to hold them.
7. Rules for using JTF OS
Do not:
- break the law, or use JTF OS to harm, harass, mislead or defraud anyone;
- put in information you have no right to use, or content that infringes someone else's rights;
- send spam or messages people did not agree to get;
- try to get into another person's account or another workspace, or probe the service for weaknesses, without our written permission;
- upload viruses or anything else meant to damage or overload the service;
- get around the free plan limits, for example by opening many accounts;
- copy, resell or rent the service, or collect data from it with automated tools, other than through features we give you;
- take the software apart or reverse engineer it, except where the law lets you;
- hide or remove the credit line to JTF Software Solutions that JTF OS shows on its pages.
If you find a security problem, please tell us through the contact page (opens in a new tab) and give us a fair chance to fix it before you tell anyone else. Do not use the problem to read other people's data.
8. Electronic signatures and documents
JTF OS can fill in a contract for you. You can then download it and print it for a pen signature, or send it to a signer to sign online. Downloading and printing are always available. On the free plan, sending for online signature is limited to 3 sends for the life of your workspace. After that, use download and print, or contact us about more.
You are responsible for the content of every contract and document you create or send. The templates and documents in JTF OS are general forms. They are not legal advice, and a lawyer has not checked them for your state, your trade or your job. Before you use one, make sure it fits your situation and the law where you work.
- You choose who gets a signing link, and you must send it to the right email address. We email the link to that address and we do not check who opens it.
- A signature in JTF OS is a typed name, recorded with the date, the time, a digital fingerprint of the document and the signer's agreement to sign electronically. We are not a notary and we do not witness anything.
- Some documents cannot be signed electronically under the law. It is your job to know which.
- We are not a party to your contracts. We are not responsible for what they say or whether they can be enforced.
The signing page links to the electronic signature disclosure in the next section, and a signer must tick a box agreeing to use electronic records and signatures before they can sign.
9. Electronic signature disclosure for people asked to sign
This section is for anyone who is sent a document to sign through JTF OS. A contractor (the sender) sends it to you. We provide the tool. We are not the sender.
- Signing electronically. The signing page asks you to tick "I agree to use electronic records and signatures" before you can sign, and we keep your tick with your signature. When you type your name and select Sign, you sign this document electronically. Under the federal E-SIGN Act and Alabama's Uniform Electronic Transactions Act, a signature or record cannot be denied effect only because it is electronic. Your typed signature has the same effect as your signature on paper.
- Paper copy. You can download and print the document at any time, and you can ask the sender for a paper copy. We do not charge you for it.
- Paper instead. You do not have to sign electronically. If you would rather use paper, tell the sender before you sign and do not select Sign.
- Taking your agreement back. You may withdraw your agreement to use electronic records and signatures by telling the sender. We do not charge you for that. It does not undo a signature you already made. It may mean the sender uses paper for later documents.
- What this covers. It covers the document you were sent and the records about it, such as the signed copy, the signing record and notices the sender gives you through JTF OS about that job.
- What you need. A device with internet, a current web browser, the email address the link came to, and a way to open and save PDF files.
- Keeping your email up to date. If your email address changes, tell the sender so they can reach you.
- Confirming you can read it. When you select Sign, you confirm that you could open and read the document on your device.
10. Other companies' services
We use other companies to help run JTF OS, for things like hosting, email delivery, bot protection and address checking. Our Privacy Policy lists them. We choose them with care, but we are not responsible for services we do not run.
JTF OS can also connect to services you choose, such as your own AI account, or a screen-sharing tool you use with our support. Those are between you and that company. Their terms and charges apply, you are responsible for them, and we do not control them.
Links to other websites are there for your convenience. We do not control those websites.
11. Support Access
Our people do not open your workspace or read Your Data unless you turn on Support Access, or the law requires it, or it is needed to stop serious harm or a security attack. To run the service day to day, we can see account details such as your name, email, company, plan, usage counts and sign-in problems.
Support Access works like this:
- Only an owner or an admin can turn it on. It is off until you do.
- You choose how long it lasts: 1 hour, 24 hours or 7 days.
- It is read-only. We cannot change, add, delete, send, sign or download anything.
- We never sign in as you or pretend to be you.
- You can revoke it at any moment, and it stops at once. Everyone in the workspace sees a bar at the top of the page while it is on.
- Every page we open is recorded, and you can read that list.
More is on our Get live help help page.
12. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why, who sees it and how long we keep it. It is part of these terms.
13. What belongs to us
JTF OS, its software, design, text, templates, names and logos belong to us or to our suppliers. These terms do not give you ownership of any of it.
We give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive permission to use JTF OS and its templates for your own business, as long as you follow these terms. You may not sell it or pass it to someone else.
If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without paying you or crediting you. Please do not send anything you want to keep secret.
14. Availability and support
We work to keep JTF OS running, but we do not promise it will always work, work on time or be free of errors. We may take it down for maintenance, or because of problems outside our control. The free plan comes with our help pages and reasonable best-effort support, with no promised response time.
Look after your own records. Export your data now and then, so you always have a copy of your own.
15. No promises beyond these terms
JTF OS is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we give no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or non-infringement. In plain words: we do our best, we do not promise the service is perfect, and you use it at your own risk.
Quotes, prices, measurements, schedules, totals and documents that JTF OS produces are tools to help you. You are responsible for checking them before you rely on them or give them to a customer. Nothing in JTF OS is legal, tax, insurance, accounting or engineering advice.
Some places do not allow some of these limits. Where that is so, they apply only as far as the law allows.
16. Limit on our liability
To the fullest extent the law allows:
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, lost jobs or customers, or business interruption, even if we were told it could happen.
- Our total liability to you for all claims about JTF OS or these terms is limited to the greater of (a) what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, and (b) $100. On the free plan, that is $100.
These limits apply to every kind of claim, whether it is based on contract, negligence, another wrong or anything else. Nothing in these terms limits a liability that the law does not allow us to limit.
Both of us understand that JTF OS can be offered free of charge because of these limits.
17. If someone makes a claim because of you
You will defend us, and pay the losses and costs (including reasonable legal fees) of any claim brought by someone else, that comes from:
- Your Data;
- your contracts, your documents, or your dealings with your customers;
- your breaking these terms or the law; or
- your use of JTF OS.
We will tell you about the claim promptly, let you handle the defense, and give reasonable help at your cost. You may not settle a claim in a way that admits fault by us or limits what we can do without our written OK.
18. Suspending and ending
You can stop using JTF OS whenever you like. To close or delete your workspace, see the next section.
We may suspend or end your access if:
- you break these terms or the law;
- your use puts the service, other people or their data at risk;
- we are required to by law; or
- we stop offering the free plan or JTF OS.
Where we can, we tell you why and give you a chance to fix the problem first. We may act at once when we need to protect people or the service. If we end the free plan or JTF OS for everyone, or end your account for a reason other than breaking these terms, we will give you at least 30 days' notice by email and a chance to export Your Data.
When your access ends, your permission to use JTF OS ends. The parts of these terms that by their nature should continue (like ownership, the disclaimers, the limit on liability, paying claims and how disputes work) continue.
19. Exporting, closing and deleting
- Export. Owners and admins can download Your Data at any time: open Settings, then Export your data. You get one ZIP file of your business records. You can run 1 export an hour. Your own account details are on your Account page.
- Close. If you ask us to close your workspace, we lock it so nobody can sign in. We keep your data, and we can reopen it if you ask.
- Delete. If you ask us to delete your workspace, or we delete it under these terms, everyone is signed out and locked out. We keep the data for 30 days, and during that time we can restore it if you ask. After that we may delete it permanently, and once it is gone we cannot bring it back. Please export your data first: open Settings, then Export your data.
- Your own account. You can ask us to delete your own account too. The Privacy Policy says what we keep and for how long.
To ask for any of this, use our contact page (opens in a new tab).
20. Changes to the service and these terms
We may change JTF OS, including the free plan and its limits. We may also update these terms.
If a change is important, such as one that makes the free plan smaller or changes your rights, we give at least 30 days' notice by email to the owner's address, or by a notice inside JTF OS. If you keep using JTF OS after the date in the notice, you accept the change. If you do not agree, export Your Data and stop using JTF OS before that date.
We may make a change sooner when the law, a court or a security problem requires it. Small fixes, like typos and clearer wording, take effect when we post them. We update the last updated date and the version number at the top of the page. When you create an account, we record which version you agreed to.
21. Settling disagreements, and Alabama law
If you have a problem with us, please tell us first through the contact page (opens in a new tab). Both of us will try in good faith to settle it informally for 30 days before either of us starts a court case. Either of us may go to court sooner to stop harm that cannot wait, such as misuse of the service or of someone's intellectual property.
Alabama law governs these terms and any dispute about them or about JTF OS, without regard to its rules about conflicts of law. Federal law applies where it must. A court case must be brought in the state or federal courts located in Mobile County, Alabama, and you and we agree to those courts and to their power over us. If the law says a different court must hear a claim, that rule applies.
22. The small print
- Whole agreement. These terms, the Privacy Policy and any add-on terms you accept are the whole agreement between you and us about JTF OS.
- If part cannot be enforced. If a court finds that part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.
- No waiver. If we do not enforce one of our rights straight away, we have not given it up.
- Transfers. You may not transfer your account or these terms without our written OK. We may transfer them to a company that takes over JTF OS or to a related company, and we will tell you.
- Events outside our control. We are not responsible for a delay or failure caused by something beyond our reasonable control, such as a power or internet outage, a failure of a service provider, a natural disaster or an attack.
- Notices. We may give you notice by email to the address on your account, or inside JTF OS. You may give us notice through the contact page (opens in a new tab).
- Roles. You and we are independent businesses. These terms do not make us partners, agents or employer and employee.
